A classic artisan chèvre from France.
Chabichou du Poitou is a wee barrel of a cheese made from pasteurised goat’s milk and is a great example of the “classic” French goats’ milk cheeses.
Underneath its wrinkly ivory skin you'll find ivory-coloured compact paste that is a touch crumbly but still moist enough to melt in the mouth.
The taste is fresh and tangy when the cheese is young, and it becomes sweeter and nuttier as the cheese matures.
Chabichou pairs beautifully with wines from the Loire Valley or any other light crispy white and rosé wines.
