Brie de Meaux promises a luxurious experience, with its rich, creamy texture gliding smoothly over the palate.

This famous cheese, hailing from the Ile de France just outside Paris, is renowned for its full-flavoured profile with complex savoury and mushroomy notes.

Celebrated since the time of Charlemagne, Brie de Meaux was famously crowned the ‘king of cheeses’ by Talleyrand at the 1814 Congress of Vienna.

Made from raw milk, it takes 25 liters to produce a single 3kg wheel. The curd is hand-ladled, drained, and aged for 6-8 weeks, resulting in a cheese with delightful mushroomy and vegetable undertones and a smooth, velvety texture.

Cheesemaker: Dongé

The Dongé family, celebrated for their artisan expertise, has been crafting Brie de Meaux since 1930.

Founded by Étienne Dongé, the dairy is now operated by the third generation, Luc and Jean-Michel Dongé.

Widely regarded as the finest Brie makers, they have achieved the prestigious Medaille d’Or nine times since 2000 — an accolade usually awarded only once in a lifetime.

As one of the last seven producers of authentic Brie de Meaux, the Dongé family adheres to traditional methods to ensure each wheel maintains its time-honoured quality. Their dedication to excellence and heritage makes every bite of their Brie de Meaux a testament to their unparalleled craftsmanship.
